In South Anchorage, on the third floor of the Dimond Center Mall across from the movie theater, I found the Dimond Burger Express.
It was a small diner-like setting, and I discovered they offer some rather competitive lunch specials.

Hey, it's by far better than MacDonald's, and it is much lower priced than most of MacDonald's full Combos. Finding a full meal for $6.50 in Anchorage is tough, and Dimond Burger Express is always friendly.
The burgers are great. They are well-cooked; the only thing to note about them is they always put on WAY too much lettuce. If you don't scrape it off, you might not realize there is any beef on the bun at all.
The fries are crinkle cut, which I am not crazy about. If they ever switched to steak fries or something thicker, that would be ideal. However, they are always crispy and never stale or cold like some of the famous fast food chains.
$6.50 for a full meal is rather excellent, and even at places like Arby's in the Dimond Center, you might get stuck paying five or six dollars for just the sandwich.
